The Central Alberta Refugee Effort (C.A.R.E.) kicked off its Learn to Skate Program Wednesday afternoon at the Servus Arena.
Any immigrant or newcomer to Canada who wants to learn to skate is welcome to take part in the program.
As well as Wednesday, the program also takes place Jan. 3rd from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bower Ponds and Jan. 4th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Riverside Meadows outdoor rink at 6021 57th Ave.
It is the Learn to Skate Program’s seventh year.
C.A.R.E. has partnered with the Red Deer Pond Hockey, St. John Ambulance, Riverside Meadows Community Association and Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School to make the annual event possible.
