Members of the City of Red Deer’s Emergency Services and the RCMP rallied together with their friends and family members as well as the general public to contribute 362 units of blood throughout the month-long Sirens for Life blood donor challenge. From this total, 24 new donors gave blood for the very first time in response to the donation campaign.

In past years, the teams competed against each other, but this year they decided it would be more motivating to rally together for a common goal, to better reflect the way they work together in the communities they serve. The Sirens for Life blood donor challenge ran at the Red Deer blood donor clinic from Jan. 3 – 31.

Donations included 45 from the RCMP and Emergency Services, 33 from friends and family and 284 from the general public.
